Grandma spends third Thanksgiving with the teen she accidentally invited to dinner

Grandma spends third Thanksgiving with the teen she accidentally invited to dinnerA text which brought together two strangers in a really lovely way is probably the closest thing we have to a modern fairy tale in the smart phone-age.  SEE ALSO: 13 ways to save your Thanksgiving dinner when things get awkward Quick recap: in 2016, Jamal Hinton from Phoenix, Arizona (who was 17-years-old at the time) was accidentally added to a group chat Thanksgiving invite sent out by Wanda Dench.  She was trying to invite her grandchildren for dinner. After establishing that he had in fact been invited by mistake, (they'd exchanged selfies as photographic proof that they weren't in fact related) Hinton asked if he could come anyway.  And the rest is internet history.  The accidental-thanksgiving-text-invite has become our annual reminder that something good can come from a text slip-up.   Turns out, the tradition is ongoing. Hinton just went back for his third Thanksgiving at Dench's house.  "2016, 2017...... 2018," he wrote as caption for the third consecutive Thanksgiving selfie of him and Dench. 2016, 2017...... 2018 ❤️ pic.twitter.com/0ZNA54uGAS — Jamal Hinton (@kingjamal08) November 23, 2018 Look at this pair of accidental Thanksgiving friends.  Image: Jamal hinton/twitter Image: JAMAL HINTON/TWITTER Awww... 2018 completes the Thanksgiving hat-trickImage: JAMAL HINTON/TWITTERLet this be your heartwarming reminder that if you just send out enough texts to random numbers, eventually you might meet someone really special to celebrate the holidays with.  WATCH: An entire Thanksgiving dinner reimagined as ice cream
